Part 4 of our Men’s Underwear Guide, and yes, I am as surprised as you when I researched into this.

This time we’re talking about protection cup, bulge booster and suspensory. The first one is probably the easiest to digest among the three, it’s a protection wear for sportsmen and athletics. The second one does what its name suggests, and the third one, well, are for people who wants to be infertile.

Yup, these things do exist. If you don’t know about them before, read on and find out!

For those who doesn’t know, this is a series of posts that will help enlighten the guys (and some girls) about the types of men’s underwear out there, when to wear them and when NOT to wear them.

Protective Cups

Men's Underwear -- Atheletic Supporter

When to wear it: For heavy sportsmen, street fights or in an argument with a women
When not to wear it: Too bulky for anywhere else!

Protection cups are for professional athletics who are engaged in sports where their own balls might be in jeopardy other than the ones they’re playing. That sounds kind of wrong, but I actually mean games such as football, rugby, baseball, wrestling etc where guys might bang at each other at the most unexpected of places.

Of course, if you happen to be some mafia king who are involved in street fights where people will do anything to get you down, wearing protective cups might be your choice of underwear. Or if you have an abusive girlfriend who loves banging your balls, the hard way. Protection cups are made to protect the family jewels.

These protection cups are built in two forms, compression shorts and athletic supporters which resembles jockstraps, briefs or trunks. Depending on what sort of sports you’re in you wear them to match your other garments. And they sure do look sturdy as hell. Your balls will be safe in this safezone, mate!

Bulge Booster

When to wear it: When you have an ego problem
When not to wear it: All the time, PLEASE!

Bulge booster does what its name suggests, making your bulge more prominent. Well, at least it’s making your bulge appear to be bigger, it doesn’t really make them any bigger in real. It’s not a penis growth wear, neither. It’s a thong with a hole in front to hold your lil brother up so it’ll stand up taller.

“Now you can easily, quickly and comfortably increase the size of your bulge with the IJ Bulge Booster. It’s unbelievably simple but amazingly effective. Suspensory

When to wear it: When you need to have lots of sex and not have kids, Edit: Or you want to have support for a teared genital ligaments
When not to wear it: When you want to have healthy balls

Suspensory is the complete opposite of what bulge boosters are made for. While bulge boosters make your balls big, suspensory makes your balls small, tight, tucked in and warm so that you will kill more sperm and get infertile after wearing it for a few weeks or months.

Yup, it’s a male contraception solution. It’s for guys who want to f**k around and don’t want to get the girls pregnant, so they wear suspensory to kill more sperm. It’s also for couples who had a couple of kids already but don’t want to lose the bedroom fun and get another accident born. By keeping your balls tight and warm your sperm count will reduce due to more heat, thus making it harder for them to produce kids.

~~While some experts claim that it is perfectly safe and fine to wear them. I’ll leave it to you to decide if you ever want this birth control method that cooks your poor balls.~~

Edit: While thermal suspensory (as explained above) is one type of suspensory that is used as a contraceptive method, but there’s another type of suspensory that is used as a support for the male genitals. A support suspensory can help support a teared genitals ligament as a result of a hard blow or impact (ouch on the fights!) or “the impact of the penis thrusting into a woman’s pelvic bone” (Read: fucking too hard). So you can wear suspensory in the meantime as your ligaments are recovering. Our friend Gerry which informed me on the comments said that suspensory is actually a pretty comfortable article to wear, and this type of suspensory does not kill sperm count, don’t worry!

So when you get a suspensory, remember to check whether it is a support suspensory, or a thermal suspensory! The former supports while the latter kills sperms, beware!

Here comes Part 3 of our Men’s Underwear Guide!

And arguably, the sexiest part of this series! We’ll be talking about thongs, g-strings and jockstraps, which probably have the least amount of clothes in the whole underwear family.

Mind you, having least cloths doesn’t mean that they’re any cheaper. Probably the opposite will be correct. The undergarment business, gah. Also note that this time the Comfort rating is pretty low. Meh, those that look good are never comfortable.

Thongs

Thong -- Men's Underwear

When to wear it: When you’re doing a strip tease
When not to wear it: For God’s sake, forget about wearing it!

Thongs are sexy. Well, at least that’s what the media tells us. It’s a piece of cloth covering your precious nether regions and revealing everything else. That’s about it.

The truth is, the most obnoxious thing about thongs is the back of the underwear. Look at that, a strip of line running in the middle of your ass crack. Imagine how does it feel when you walk around and it grinds against your backdoor. Especially if you have a hairy one. That is like, ungh.

Sure, it’s nice to look at. If you’re a stripper or a sex industry worker, well maybe it works for you. But definitely not for us everyday average joes that needs to do much other things.

G-String

G-String -- Men's Underwear

Comfort: Nonexistent
Practicality: *
Style: ****
When to wear it: When you’re doing a strip tease
When not to wear it: You might as well don’t wear anything.

The designers who make thongs must’ve think that they have not created enough evil in this world yet. Then they made G-strings. Seriously, it’s probably the most overrated piece of undergarment for men. Not to mention overpriced as well. It’s awfully impractical. I really get the impression that it might snap if you move around too much with it. Well, that’s if you ever want to move around in it.

G-strings are nice to see, well, for some people, anyway. Considering the price you need to pay for this luxury item, it’s what it is, a luxury item. Or maybe it works as a fetish item for some people as well. Hmm, now that’s one more value for it that I can think of. Anything else you can come up with?

Jockstrap

Jockstrap -- Men's Underwear

Comfort: ****
Practicality: *****
Style: ****
When to wear it: When you want to hold your balls when you exercise, or when you’re doing a strip tease
When not to wear it: Hmmm… Good question.

Apparently, jockstraps are designed for jocks who want to hold their balls while they’re exercising or running around, and have minimum impact and grind anywhere else. Thus it has two straps that straps onto your thighs and covering the balls. While it does look pretty gay, well I mean, you know, it looks like it does provide easy access to some activities of which I’ll leave it to your imagination, it is actually more comfortable and practical than you might first thought.

Firstly, there’s no annoying string grinding against your arsehole when you walk around in a jockstrap. And jockstraps are actually pretty comfortable to wear as it covers very little of your skin, giving you the ventilation you and your millions of potential-kids need while preventing the sac from slapping around. And guess what, no undie lines. You can wear them with almost anything, even the thinnest of pants and you won’t see a thing. Maybe your ass crack if you wear a light enough pants, but you know better, right?

Jockstraps are actually pretty comfortable and practical. But not all guys can accept it due to the gay-ish connotations. Who cares, as long as it feels good, you wear it inside, who’s gonna see anyway? ;)

This time we’re going to talk about briefs and bikinis. Not only girls has bikinis, okay!

Briefs

Briefs -- Men's Underwear

When to wear it: Anywhere, anytime
When not to wear it: When you’re bathing or having sex? Even then you can still wear them for the eroticism ;)

Briefs are my top pick of underwears, all time, any time. My undies wardrobe probably consists of 65% of briefs, some trunks and some boxers. I totally love them for their comfort and practicality. Compared to trunks briefs has less cloth covering your thighs as it’s triangular in shape, thus it’s much cooler to wear. And it’s cooler to wear even in terms of style. Briefs probably rank the most designed male underwear of all times. Well, they’re definitely more adventurous than trunks. ;)

Briefs can be cold though if you wear them to offices or cold weather areas. They make a real good summer wear just about any place, any time. You can wear them with anything, and as usual, just watch out for the undie lines when you wear with your formal clothes so it won’t show through. And watch the colors too, a stylish briefs is cool on the street and you can show off your colourful strap-line, but it’s a no-no at formal places. Unless you want to wear red for good luck in casino. Then you should share your profits with me.

Bikinis

Bikini -- Men's Underwear

When to wear it: Chasing that girl (or guy)
When not to wear it: Any activity that involves lots of sweat. Or when you don’t have an ass to compliment it.

Bikinis are the slimmed down version of briefs. As you can see, they’re much skimpier, thus of course, much sexier. Guys who are adventurous enough to wear bikinis sure can get as much, or maybe more whistles and howls than the female counterpart!

But then, bikinis are more of a style wear than being anywhere practical. Having thin lines means that it can’t hold on tight enough to make your movements comfortable, and sometimes the cloth will roll up into an annoying knot around your waist. Though sometimes it is quite helpful to wear them when you’re wearing those ultra-thin formal pants as they will definitely not show anything but your nice ass. Hmm, does that really matter for most guys, anyway?

Oh yeah, they make a great kinky wear without going too over the top. So if you’re having some time with that girl or that guy, a bikini can spice things up a bit or two.

Men’s Underwear Guide — Boxers, Boxer Briefs, Trunks

Wonder why women loves lingerie shopping? It makes them feel confident, comfortable and definitely great.

Many men (and guys and boys) are oblivious about their wardrobe. Especially their undergarments. There are numerous times that I’ve seen some guys wearing ultra-trendy Korean style shirt and low rise jeans, and a pair of faded-out undies that looked like what you get from the morning market for 3 bucks each sticking out like a sore thumb.

As a guy I’m telling you, it’s the same with the male species. A pair of good undies will definitely make you feel better as you go out. Wearing the right underwear at the right occasions with the right garments will gain you much poise and confidence.

So here I am to put together a series of posts that will help enlighten the guys (and some girls) about the types of men’s underwear out there, when to wear them and when NOT to wear them.

In the part 1 of these series we’re going to look into boxers, boxer briefs and trunks. Yes, there are difference between them!

Boxers

Comfort: ***
Practicality: **
Style: *
When to wear it: At home or cold weather places
When not to wear it: Anywhere else especially with pants

Boxers are loose fitting undergarments that are similar to short pants. Due to their loose fitting nature it is very comfortable to wear them at home, but practically nowhere else. There’s nothing more hideous than wearing boxers with tight fitting pants, they make your pants look like you’re hiding a garbage bag inside.

It’s cotton material makes it a great choice to wear for sleep and at home. However at some countries and places where it is very cold, it’s always advisable to keep your sac warm or you’ll get blue balls. So you can wear some tight fitting underwear such as briefs or trunks, a boxer, then your regular pants. Extra warmth, extra protection. An ass when you want to pee, though.

Boxer Briefs

Practicality: ***
Style: *
When to wear it: With jeans, khakis or any think pants
When not to wear it: Anywhere with hot weather

Boxer briefs are often confused with boxers as they share a common word. But well they’re pretty different. Boxer briefs are made out of different materials to be much more tight fitting, so you don’t get the garbage-bag-syndrome when you wear them with tight fitting pants. They do however retain the long length of boxers and a looser front-sac.

Boxer briefs are popular as they are one of the most conservative underwear that you can get. They are like men’s corsets. Covering pretty much everything up, and are way hot to wear (yes, I mean the temperature). You can wear them at moderately cold weather places, but don’t wear them out in the sun. You’ll get nasty itches from the sweat.

Trunks

Comfort: ****
Practicality: *****
Style: ****
When to wear it: Practically anything
When not to wear it: When you’re bathing

Trunks are one of the top choice for underwear for most guys out there. It’s the most practical underwear without the heat and fashion issue. It does not have the loose front sac like boxer briefs, more tight fitting, shorter than boxer briefs and definitely much sexier. There are much more room for flashy designs on trunks as you can see, as they make a better fashion statement than boxers (ungh!) and boxer briefs.

Guys in good trunks appear mature and confident. They are best for going to school or work, out for a drink or coffee or just plain taking a stroll anywhere. They go well with almost anything. However they are slightly more popular at cooler countries rather hot tropical countries though, as they are still slightly bit hotter as they wrap up more meat. As usual, don’t wear them under hot sun as they do potentially produce more sweat than briefs.

Do watch out for the undie lines though when you buy your trunks as they might be unpleasant to wear with formal pants which are thin. Otherwise, trunks are your best choice for any occasion.
