Grey is finally… proudly GREY!

Yep, it’s my childhood dream to be GREY, maybe I’ve been playing too much of Final Fantasy and I adore Sephiroth too much. But woot, GREY is COOL!

Now let’s just hope it won’t fall off too soon. :P

This is a narcissistic brainless post unlike my previous artsy-fartsy stuffs, so if you don’t mind to bear with my ramblings, read on! :P

Grey Before Bleaching

Well actually, before my latest bleaching feat I already bleached my hair before, like well, a month ago before Chinese New Year, lol. At first I bleached then I tried to dye it grey too, but it failed as apparently i didn’t bleach light enough, the yellow pigment mixed with the blueish-grey dye made my hair turn out being greenish.

And it all came out within 3 days. Yep, 3 days, and the dye went off. Argh!

So I became the blondie for a month now. Well I wouldn’t mind acting dumb in the meantime, it’s fun! ;)

Anyway, I asked my hair stylist Elson Tang after, and he said that I wasn’t using the proper shampoo to wash my hair after dyeing. Apparently after dyeing your hair with different colors you need to wash them with the color retaining shampoos , or else your colors will fall off pretty quickly. There are color retaining shampoos for almost all colors, in my case I have to use the silver color retaining shampoo.

So aight, this time, I’m determined to do two things:

To go totally GREY, and to keep it there!

And off with BLEACH!

Grey's Bleaching Adventure: Bleaching the hair

This is how you’ll look like when you have a pile of bleach stuck on your hair for 3 hours. Yep, I sat there for three hours bleaching my hair, trying to get the result I want.

At first I thought of bleaching the whole head as well, but that will kill all of my hair, and while that looks pretty it’s actually pretty much an ass to maintain. So I opted for bleaching my fringes, as you can see here.

It doesn’t look pretty, and it hurts. Though it doesn’t hurt like hell, it hurts annoyingly on your scalp leaving you squirming on your seat thinking when will it be over. Yep, it’s chemicals after all, what do you expect?

So this is how my hair looks like after bleaching. The shampoo girl commented, “it’s like meehoon”. :x

Yep, it’s that soft and easy to break. Bleaching your hair to total white kills all pigments and minerals inside the hair until they are dead, totally dead. The whiter you bleach, the more you’re bringing it to death.

First time in my life I bleached white. Bye-bye healthy hair, I will see you in a year.

You didn’t really think that I will just go around with that super golden hair and white hair, would ya?

My goal is GREY, yeah, GREY. I wanna be well, GREY!

So we went on to put that GREY dye onto my hair. The technically correct term for it is actually silver, but well, it sounds cooler as GREY. (Actually, silver sounds cooler but don’t mind me :X)

And this is how you looks like when you’re bored on the forth hour already trying to figure out something to do. I brought my PSP and I played it till battery ran out. Forgot to charge em the previous day, lulz.

And here I am, done dyeing my GREY hair! The golden hair part now appear greenish as silver/grey is actually blue pigments, and added with the golden yellow it appears green. But on the white bleached hair, it appears as GREY!

And yeah, GREY is cool!

Okay, so it may appear blueish and all, but really, it’s really GREY! Or silver. Or ungh, I don’t know what to call it. :X

But anyhow, I’m happy with my hair now. Even though I have to deal with hardcore hair tangles, and the bleached hair takes forever to dry. The normal hair takes like half an hour max to dry, while the bleached part takes an hour plus. Ouch. Not to mention they fall off pretty easily too. :X

But ungh, for my childhood dream — GREY hair, I will deal with it!! Wahahaha!

And thank you for sitting through this endless stream of babbles! I’ll give you some fallen grey hair as a reward… Any takers?

Well, I’m as surprised as you!

It was my friends that told me first that I was featured on The Star Newspaper R.AGE Featured Blogger’s section.

At first I thought it was a prank. Well it was my birthday 2 days ago, I guess people can play pranks.

Then throughout the day I got friends buzzing me on MSN and Twitter saying that, “Hey, I saw you on newspaper!”

It was until WillyCW (visit his blog here) sent a Twitpic of the newspaper clipping.

Oh my!

So how did it happen??

Some people asked if I paid for the “ad”. The answer is, no.

Kenwooi from the infamous Kenwooi.com asked if I wrote to R.AGE to asked to be featured.

The short answer is, yes.

The long answer, is that all you have to do is write to them at alltherage@thestar.com.my introducing yourself and your blog. They will take your blog into consideration, and if your blog fits the bill, someone will contact you for more details. You can find the blog post about R.AGE looking for bloggers to be featured over here.

As I quote,

I was probably one of those n00bs that thinks that being a n00b I am just started blogging a few months ago will probably not fit in there, but now I am glad that I made that first move.

Dengan muka tebalnya I sent in my introduction. It paid off. Now it’s your turn! :D

As we all agree, everyone in this world definitely have their ups and downs.

I guess I’m at the verge of my all time low record these days.

As for why my life sucks, well for the curious, here are some pointers.

Listen to me, for God’s sake!

Well, lets just say that it has something to do with miscommunication. If one party talks, you’ll expect the other party to listen, right? But when the other party talks, by the least of courtesy of course you have to listen too.

And someone in the family just talks and never listen. And that sucks.

Well you know, I guess this happens in many families. Not only in families, but in all companies, organizations or groups in the world. Someone has to be the (self-proclaimed or not) leader with a larger than life ego. But as long as the person is willing to put down the ego a little and listen, for once, he/she can potentially be the best leader among all. :)

So if you’re someone that talks too much and never listen, time to stop a while and listen for once. No matter how bad the thing sounds, no matter how hard it is to accept, if you actually listen, it will definitely be good for you, because whatever people say, they say with their hearts.

Even lies come from the heart. If you can tell that it’s a lie, it shows their heart, no?

So yeah… Please listen up, will ya?

Oh, anyway, the person finally listened up and the problem is solved… for now. At least for now. :/ Lets just hope that it lasts. (From my experience it rarely lasts long :x).

10 Years Sick And Treating It Today

Yep, after 10 years of having this medical condition I’m only starting to see the doctor today.

Juvenile idiopathic arthritis. I got it when I was young, having frequent joint pains everyday late at night or early in the morning or whenever it rains. Everyone called me the young-old-man, hehe. But oh well, I thought it was normal and not something big and thought it will go away when I grow up.

Apparently not. It’s still here and getting worse. When I saw the doctor yesterday she scolded me, “What the hell have you been doing for the past 10 years??”

Ignorance, perhaps?

The doctor said that if I have went to see her any later it might develop into something much worse than what it is now. While there are no cure for arthritis, there are still plenty of things that you can do to prevent it from getting worse.

So kids, if you have any pains or discomfort anywhere for an extended period of time, don’t think, go see the freaking doctor before it gets any worse. Seriously. No, any pain or discomfort is not normal, and yes even if you’re born that way doesn’t mean you have to stay that way for the rest of your life.

Trust the doctors, and trust me. :)

You want more emo stories?

Nah, I’m sure this blog is not meant for emoness. There are plenty of other emo stuffs that I would not like to disclose for now, but one thing for sure, I would love to thank my friends and pals who stood by whenever I needed em. They are really great friends that you can never find, only met and nurtured through time.

I trusted them. And I thank you all for trusting in me. :D

And thank you all for staying with this blog and continue to read even though I have been inactive for the past couple of weeks. I am still trying to settle down and chunk more time for blogging (and read-blogging), and while so, please, yet again, bear with me for my sanity’s sake.

In the meanwhile, if you have missed any previous posts, why not go on and have a look? Apparently, my obsession with male underwears gained the most attention from the search engines, generating 20-30 hits every day, huhu. I wonder why!

I have three little pigs.

Well, guinea pigs, at least.

And aww, they pull my heart alright! Though I must admit all those squeeking and squeeling and running about during midnight can be an annoyance, but ooh, look at them!

The Grey one is getting a year plus old now. He used to partner with my old guinea pig, but that one died due to teeth complications. Guinea pig teeth can keep growing and growing, and if they are not properly structured they can grow into the jaws and locking up their mouth, making them not able to eat. That’s what happened to my last pig. Genetic problems, the doctor said. :(

Then Greyhead was lonely for a couple of months now. Like 4 months. And all he does is eat and sleep. That’s why you see that he’s so damn fat.

So a few weeks ago I went to buy Sasame (the darker grey one) and Latte (the coffee colored one) here to accompany Greyhead. At first they were pretty afraid… well for 15 minutes anyway. After a few hours they’re running about chasing each other and cuddling together. Awww.

Though Greyhead still eats the most between them all, but I am sure in time the other two will be just as fat. As fat as ME!

If you’re wondering, they are all Abyssinian guinea pigs. I used to have 2 Sheltie guinea pigs, but oh well, they left me. :(

Nevermind, I have Three Little (Guinea) Pigs to keep me company in my room all day and night!

Have you been home?

While everyone is in happy jolly Christmas mood, perhaps sometimes it’s nice to sit down and think, what can we do to make our Christmas a really memorable one. While it’s nice to have a real big party or a smashing night out, but sometimes, just a sweet little dinner around the table at home will do.

After all, Christmas is a family celebration. Well, used to be. Shouldn’t we go back and make it one?

Well, its been months since this blog had started, and honestly I didn’t talk much about myself, as much as I wish I do!

To get rid of the anonymity between you and me, I am for once dedicate this post to talk all about me!

Yay, all about Grey! The blabbering bastard that gets high on listening to a guy singing like a girl and talks about sex all the time. Yeesh, what kind of a person is that?

I will not bore you with how many hairstyles I have changed in my life or how many pets I have at home. Instead, I will share with you my interests and thoughts that means a lot to me of who I am.

Well, lets just keep it short, come and learn all about me today!

The Basics First

Grey got a new haircut, like yesterday!

By the time I write this post I’m still 22. In 4 months time I’m going to be 23, and oh, time flies! 23 years gone in my life, and what have I done? Catching up with all those porn probably.

It felt like yesterday that I have just graduated from Confucious Private Secondary School and moved on to KBU International College. I graduated from college in Graphic Design, and now I am working in Piradius Design as a web designer.

Doesn’t show through huh? Yeah I think so too. I’m a designer that talks and craps more than design. ;)

Besides that, I am also a choir singer for around 9 years now, and a crappy piano player for around 7 years. I started late in my teens, I’m not greatly talented, but I still enjoy playing it as a hobby. As I always say, if you start now, when you’re 50 years old you’ve probably played for more than 30 years! Isn’t that an achievement? :D

I love my Chinese and English

My mom thinks that the whole family are bananas who can’t read chinese, so it’s a wise thing to send me to a chinese secondary school. I appreciated that, of course! The Chinese culture is fascinating, 5000 years worth of culture is not something that you can feel in matter of minutes. There are so much Confucianism and Taoism values that I had absorbed and learned to appreciate today.

Many people make the “Confucianism is confusing” joke. Well it’s funny a little, but Confucianism is a very highly respected set of moral values to the Chinese. Go read about it and you will see why, it determines almost 80% of all about Chinese culture today, from values in filial piety to relationships. Mostly everything.

Then there’s the English world that I’ve come across in college. Thanks to the banana friends and the English nature of the course, I had to brush up my English language skills like from zero to hero. Well not really hero now neither, but you get what I mean. :P

My banana friends had introduced me to the world of the Western culture. They listened to Rihanna and Lady Gaga, they watched Heroes and Harry Potter, they followed American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance… None, and I mean none of these I have ever come across during my secondary school life. And I love them for doing so. I was a total Taiwan and Hong Kong follower back in secondary school, now I guess I’m a global guy.

An Open Mind

A mix of both worlds had opened my eyes to many things indeed. And with a mix of a third world it really got me going to have the urge seeing the world even more.

What third world, you say? It’s Second Life. For a time during my college I was so free and I came upon this online 3d world community/game thing. And I was hooked, very hooked. There are so much cultural diversity in there that you can never explore it all. I tried, and I was amazed.

Second Life showed me that the world is not as simple as what the media wants us to see. There are so much other subcultures that we can never know from the TV or radio. There are the furries, the Goreans, the steampunks, the goths, the adult scenes, the nekos. There are so much room for experimental developments, so many groups to look into, so wide the spectrum that I was overwhelmed initially.

Then it came to me that the world is really much larger than what we think it is. There are so much to see, so much to learn, the only way to get through all of it is to embrace the differences.

Perhaps this is why I am so open to talk about just anything, because I have a real high threshold for shock factor and differences.

Classical music, the alternative music today

Whenever I tell people that I like classical music, they will give me the look of detest, “Oh that’s some boring crap!” or the trying-very-hard-to-feel-the-same, “Oh I like classical music too! The violins and what’s that thing again… flute? Yeah, the blowy thing. I like that.”

The thing is that many young people don’t listen to classical music anymore, because it is difficult music. It is harder to relate to compared to those disco beats or Top 40 tunes. It has a much more complicated form and if you’re not used to it, you’re prone to fall asleep because of its relaxing effects.

I like relaxing music. Classical music does that for me, and I love it. They may be difficult to catch at first, but if you spend some time reading about it you will appreciate them much more. After all, classical music had always have the dramatic effect that can bring you so much up and down. Listen to these music here, here and here. Each of those music are written 100 years apart, they still are really good today, aren’t they?

Classical music is evergreen, because they’re the essence of history. They reflect the spirit of their times, and can still reflect the spirit of our times today. We love classical music because of it’s power to bring joy and excitement just about anyone, as long as you open your ears to it. Really, try it. ;)

I Love My Sex

Grey is with Sugar. Well not really a sweet mouth!

In case you haven’t notice by now, I love my sex. I’m very vocal about my porns and I am not afraid to share about sex. I guess one of the reasons why there is that I think that sex is a very human thing, yet most of us are afraid to talk about it due to our Confucianism teachings (see above!).

Sex makes us all happy. And let’s be honest, the word “sex” itself makes you feel curious already. All of us are attracted to sex because of it’s status of being a taboo in our society, it’s like a secret interest that is not so secret anymore.

This blog is made to be an open conversation to be just about anything. I bring up many interesting and sometimes controversial issues so that we can share ideas. And sex is part of it. And I love it. ;)

The Net Is My Life

Without Internet, I will probably rot and die in minutes. I spend almost 15 hours of my time online every day, well partly because of work, but it is pretty much my love and passion.

There are so much to watch on YouTube, so much to share on Facebook, so much to explore on StumbleUpon, and so much to read just every else. Call me addicted if you must, but if addicted is what I am being coined to enrich my life with, I’m really proud and willing to be an addict.

Grey loves his food! Really!!

Oh no, that doesn’t mean that I don’t have a life. I go out with friends regularly, I enjoy a walk at the mall, I enjoy traveling, I enjoy great food at great places, I enjoy dating with my boy. Just anytime other than that, being online is what I will do.

Thats why I love my broadband too. I probably use it to the max. Without it, I’ll probably sleep till it’s there.
