The porn industry is a 3 billion USD a year industry. Every second 266 new porn website goes live. Every minute there are 2 million people looking at porn.

I must admit, porn is one topic that everybody wants to know about and nobody talks about.

We consume porn so much these days it’s becoming a commodity. And do you know the porn industry is dying too, because of piracy?

Well, you won’t find porn images of this post. Last time we discussed about why masturbation porn videos are so popular. But then when you come to think of it, people just watch porn. Any porn. Who cares what porn it is.

Pornhub’s tagline is really catchy. It’s what porn is all about. Giving people an escapism by indulging in visual carnal pleasures. You can’t get it but you can still enjoy watching it, no? I’m sure all of you guys (and some girls) here has somehow downloaded porn before, or at least watched some. It’s everyone’s dirty little secret I know. >:)

According to the dictionary definition,

Porn (pôr’n?) Slang. The noun has one meaning:

creative activity (writing or pictures or films etc.) of no literary or artistic value other than to stimulate sexual desire

Or is it?

If you’re going to watch porn tonight, well, spend the 20 minutes and watch this video instead to learn the truth and behind-the-scenes of the porn industry. It is really much more professional than you think.

Creating porn needs a lot of coordination, creativity and involves a hell lot of resources. It is ultimately movie-making after all, and its goal is to create a movie for everyone to watch. Even though it all involves all the f**king and s**king and everything else that everyone else does. The devil is in the detail.

Porn are actually the avant-garde in technology. They’re always the first adopters with the latest technology even since the 1950s. There’re already 3D porn out on the market. Yes, you can now see boobs and butts on 3D with special glasses. I don’t see 3D Disney or Hollywood movies anywhere yet.

Do you know that there is a prestigious awarding ceremony for porn, the porn Oscar event, called the AVN Awards? And check out the award categories that they’re giving out. Like, wow.

This is how seriously people take porn. It is after all, as we see from Current’s documentary about porn, a 3 billion USD industry. You wouldn’t want to lose the market share.

Piracy Is Killing Porn

Well, thanks to technology such as the porn streaming sites and torrent downloads, the big players in porn industry is actually suffering from porn piracy. After all, when you think of it, it does make sense. These people throw a hell lot of budget into making these movies, and if you don’t buy the original or stream by subscribing to their site, they don’t get the return. Then how do they get the money to make more?

Porn stars are expensive to hire, you know. Especially the hot ones.

Well, nevermind those low-budget amateur things you find on amateur sites. If you want quality movies, buy original, see original.

Hey, it doesn’t just apply to Hollywood productions. Porn needs your support too! Well, that sounds kind of wrong, but well, you get the deal. ;)
